ADRFCO Officers for 2008 ADRFCO Chair of the Board Keary Kinch Partner and Senior Vice President Adams Hussey & Associates Keary has been involved with direct marketing for two decades, working with some of the largest organizations in the country. Her experience includes building membership programs, increasing magazine circulation and raising millions of funds for charity clients. She has been awarded numerous awards from the Direct Marketing Association. Keary is also a proud expatriate from the republic of Texas.
ADRFCO Vice-Chair Jack Doyle President Amergent Jack began providing successful fundraising ideas and strategies in 1978. A graduate of Tufts University with a BA in Economics, Jack began his professional career on the client side, working on the Annual Fund for his Zeta Psi National Fraternity Headquarters, an Epsilon client in 1976. Two years later, he became a customer service contact on the agency side. Jack joined Amergent (then known as Target Marketing) in 1986. He has been President of Amergent since 2001. Jack is the Vice-Chair of the DMA Nonprofit Federation’s Advisory Council (through June, 2005), is an active Board member of the Association of Direct Response Fundraising Counsel (ADRFCO), and is one of the two corporate NCDC members that sits on the Board of that organization. He is a popular speaker and presenter for the DMAFA conferences, the NCDC and regional fund raising meetings. Session feedback often cites his clarity in showing audiences “what to do” when facing income opportunities. You leave a session with new ideas to try out when you get back to the office. Session feedback always includes “best one of the conference”. When not working (and sometimes during work hours) he is an active sportsman. He is a Life Member of Trout Unlimited, an avid saltwater fly fisherman and a ten-year Sponsor for Ducks Unlimited. He is 15-year volunteer on the North Shore DU Banquet Committee, the most successful fund raising chapter in Massachusetts for Ducks Unlimited. He and his wife Lin have one son, Christopher.

Lynn Edmonds President L.W. Robbins Associates Lynn S. Edmonds joined Robbins Associates in 1999 as Executive Vice President and became President in March 2001. Under her leadership, Robbins Associates has enjoyed record growth, providing strategic development, creative, production and database services to more than 50 nonprofit organizations. Lynn and her teams are trailblazers in developing, implementing and delivering innovative strategies and solutions for diverse organizations, including American Bible Society, American Cancer Society, Covenant House, Doctors Without Borders, Fund for Animals, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Native American Rights Fund, Project Bread, Shriners Hospital For Children, Special Olympics, Volunteers of America, Washington National Cathedral and many regional and local charities (including more than 30 food banks). In February 2006, Lynn was named one of the "Top Women in Fundraising" by FundRaising Success magazine as part of its 2006 Fundraising Professionals of the Year Awards. FundRaising Success magazine's Editor-in-Chief Margaret Battistelli writes, "In her 34 years as a fundraising professional, Lynn's innovative strategies have helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars for scores of organizations...what strikes us most about Lynn is the matter-of-fact way she masters what's new and melds it with the tried and true. The ease with which she bridges three decades of fundraising know-how makes her an enduring, constant and consummate professional..." In 2001, Lynn was named by the NonProfit Times as one of "12 powerful women now driving nonprofit direct response marketing." As part of her profile, the publication noted that "She has been an industry leader for many years, first at Epsilon and now at Robbins Associates. Her programs are consistent overachievers." Lynn's direction on behalf of many of these clients has yielded several DMA Echo Awards plus over 50 national and local awards, including a "Best in Show" for the American Bible Society at the 2003 New England Direct Marketing (NEDMA) Awards, 12 NEDMA Awards in 2006, including 8 Gold Awards. She is a frequent speaker for the Direct Marketing Association, Direct Mail Fundraisers Association, and the National Catholic Development Conference and has conducted fundraising workshops for organizations and community foundations. Prior to joining Robbins Associates, Lynn served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Epsilon's Fundraising and Membership Services division. She attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Ellen Cobb Church President/CEO Craver, Mathews, Smith & Company Recently named a Top Woman in Fundraising by Fundraising Success Magazine, Ellen brings over 20 years of direct marketing and fundraising experience to CMS. She has substantial knowledge of donor acquisition and development, upgrading strategies, messaging in fundraising and multi-channel integration, innovative telemarketing approaches, production and implementation activities, file segmentation through the use of scoring and modeling, and diversification of revenue streams. Her experience spans both charitable and advocacy organizations, including the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity International, Heifer International, The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, Death With Dignity, Christian Children’s Fund, Covenant House, City Harvest, and Operation Smile. Ellen is a frequent presenter at industry events, and is committed to sharing CMS's expertise with nonprofit community while bringing the best of the outside world into CMS through continuing education opportunities for our entire staff. Ellen resides her Herndon, VA with her husband, Jeff and their sons Adam and Clark. She is an active volunteer with her church's youth ministry programs. Ellen is a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Tom Hurley President DMW Worldwide LLC Tom Hurley is responsible for the overall management of a direct response fund raising agency serving the donor and membership programs of a diverse group of non-profit organizations including The Salvation Army/New York, Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind, Washington, DC, The Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation, Washington, DC, International Animal Rescue, London, England and more than fifty PBS television and NPR radio stations from Maine to Hawaii. His past responsibility for all phases of development including membership, planned giving, committed (monthly) giving, major gift development and corporate support. Before becoming president of DMW, he served as development officer for twelve years at PBS-NPR stations in New York and Michigan. He also spent twenty years managing membership and donor programs from the agency side. He is a past member of the PBS Development Advisory Committee and a regular conference speaker for PBS, DMA and other trade groups. He is also a regular columnist for Fundraising Success Magazine.
Judy Maneval President Sanky Communications, Inc. Judith Maneval is President of Sanky Communications. After working in advertising and direct mail for 14 years, Judy joined SCI in January 1984 and became a partner in the firm later that year. Judy was the founding President of the Association of Direct Response Fundraising Counsel (ADRFCO), serving in that role from 1985 through 1990, continuing on the board through 2001, and rejoining the board in 2005. Judy was on the board of the Greater New York Chapter of AFP from 1980 through 1998 and was President of the Greater New York Chapter for 1994 and 1995, also serving as a representative to the AFP National Assembly. She was President of the Direct Marketing Fundraisers Association in 1984 and 1985. Judy is a frequent speaker at Fund Raising Day in New York, at the AFP/New School Fundamentals of Fundraising Program, and at many other seminars and workshops around the country.
Tom McCabe President and CEO KMA Direct Communications Tom is a 30-year veteran in direct response marketing. He began his career in direct response insurance, where her lead the direct mail division of National Liberty Corporation. Tom then launched International Marketing Group (IMG) in 1978 in the Washington, DC area. IMG was a direct response fundraising and research firm, servicing many nonprofits across America. He then merged IMG with Development Resources Inc. in Dallas as a co-founder of what is currently KMA Direct Communications in 1984. Tom and his associates have worked as direct response marketing, fundraising and communications consultants for such groups as The Salvation Army, American Bible Society, Alliance Defense Fund, Prison Fellowship, Baylor University, The Arthritis Foundation, Moody Bible Institute, Trans World Radio, World Vision and many others. Tom is a member of the board of the Association of Direct Response Fundraising Counsel (ADRFCO), where he served as chairman from 2000 to 2002. He is currently a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, National Religious Broadcasters – where he currently serves as a board member – and the Christian Management Association. Tom is married and has three children. He and his family live in Dallas, Texas.
Dennis Meyer, CFRE President Meyer Partners Dennis founded Meyer Partners in 1989 to provide strategic consulting and related services in fund raising and marketing to selected nonprofit organizations. Prior to starting the firm, Dennis was National Director of Not-for-Profit Marketing for Epsilon, one of the nation's leading database marketing companies. Dennis joined Epsilon-Chicago in 1981 after ten years as a not-for-profit fund-raising executive. A recipient of Epsilon's Lifetime Achievement Award, he was responsible for new business marketing and served as senior strategist and program director on numerous client fund-raising and marketing programs. Dennis' career began at Concordia College, Seward, Nebraska, where upon graduation in 1970, he was named Development Officer, and later Associate Director of Development. In 1973 he became the Director of Development and Public Relations for Lutheran Family Services of Iowa, and in 1976 he was named Development Director at Bethesda Lutheran Home in Wisconsin. During the next four years, Dennis managed an annual giving program which doubled in revenue, directed the file conversion to a state-of-the-art database, enlarged the planned giving and major donor visitation programs and directed the establishment of a Foundation which today has assets in the millions. It is said that "there is no better teacher than experience," and with more than twenty five years in the field, Dennis is one of the rare fund-raising executives who has had experience in all of the fund-raising disciplines. Additionally, he has been a speaker at many of the regional and national conventions of NSFRE, NCDC, CMI, AHP, ALDE, CASE and others. A charter Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Dennis is a past board member of the Chicago Chapter of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives. Presently, he serves as Vice President of the Association of Direct Response Fund Raising Council, and as a member of the Direct Marketing Association's Non-Profit Council Operating Committee.
John Mini President John Mini Consulting John Mini has worked in direct response fundraising for nearly 25 years. Since 1997, John Mini Consulting has developed fundraising strategies and direct response programs for a variety of successful national nonprofit organization including the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR), National Council of Jewish Women, National Osteoporosis Foundation, and Waterkeeper Alliance. John Mini began direct mail fundraising working with a presidential primary campaign, while at a major DC public relations firm. Since then, Mini worked at Craver, Mathew Smith and Company (CMS), another leading firm and within several non-profit organizations including World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) and amfAR. Not only has John worked with various direct response programs, he is also experienced in major gift fundraising and a multi-million dollar workplace-giving programs. John Mini has lectured on direct mail fundraising at New York University Graduate School and the New School for Social Research. He has also presented his work at professional association meetings, including the International Conference of National Society of Fund Raising Executives and the Direct Marketing Association Non-Profit Conference. John Mini has a degree in economics from Georgetown University.
Tiffany Neill, CFRE Senior Vice President Lautman Maska Neill & Company Tiffany has helped raise money through direct mail campaigns for several organizations, including the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the AARP Andrus Foundation, House of Ruth, Hadassah, and the National Museum of the American Indian. Packages on which she has worked have been awarded Gold Maxis by the DMAW, and Silver Echo and a Henry Holk Awards by the Direct Marketing Association. Tiffany has spoken about direct mail fundraising at industry meetings and seminars, including the AFP Fundraising Days in New York and Washington, DC, the Direct Marketing Association of Washington, and the D.C. Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP, formerly NSFRE) and the Direct Marketing Association of Washington (DMAW). Tiffany is a graduate of Stanford University, and has an MBA in Finance from Johns Hopkins University.
Bill Rehm Vice President Mal Warwick & Associates Vice president of Mal Warwick & Associates in Berkeley, California, Bill Rehm has over 25 years of fundraising and direct marketing experience and has helped to raise tens of millions for nonprofit organizations and political candidates. Prior to joining Mal Warwick & Associates in 1987, Bill was the Circulation Director for In These Times magazine in Chicago and the Marketing Director of Richard Parker & Associates in San Francisco. He has created and produced hundreds of direct mail packages, newsletters, brochures, and advertisements for dozens of nonprofit organizations. His current clients include Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles, the Feingold Senate Committee, the University of California – San Diego, and AIDS Project Los Angeles.
